The date the old £1 coin ceases to officially be legal tender at midnight

Council-owned pay and display machines across the borough will no longer accept the old £1 coin from today.

The round £1 coin, which has been in circulation for over 34 years, is currently being withdrawn from circulation and ceases to officially be legal tender at midnight on 15 October.
