Yorkshire mother and daughter to be honoured for work with animals

A mother and daughter from Yorkshire will be honoured with a special award at the House of Lords today.

Krista Langley and daughter Lauren from Thirsk will receive the International Fund for Animal Welfare for their dedication to rescuing and rehabilitating injured and orphaned wildlife.

The pair run the 24 hour centre from their home. They take in around 1,500 wild birds and animals from across the North of England each year, as well as dealing with up to 3,000 calls for help and advice from members of the public and referrals from police and the RSPCA .
