The number of people who have died from coronavirus across the UK has risen by 113 to 578. Six of those were in our region; four in Sheffield, one person in York and one in Chesterfield.
The bigger than expected rise in deaths is in part due to a change in the way the NHS records them and is over a longer period than the previous day.
It comes as Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced self-employed people will have 80% of their average earnings paid for by the government.
Meanwhile Humberside Police has created an online reporting portal where people can send details of those not following social distancing rules.
People across the region have once again given a round of applause for key workers on the frontline treating patients with coronavirus.
Businesses in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire have upped their production of medical equipment for hospitals dealing with coronavirus patients.
A further 48 people have died in our region, bringing the total number of deaths to 205.
