The mother of an 11-year-old girl from Nottinghamshire who drowned on holiday says she's disgusted the company ordered to pay the family compensation is appealing against the decision.

Last year a Greek civil court held holiday firm Sunsail liable for the death of Laura Morgan from Woodborough. Laura died when the catameran she was in capsized at a Greek holiday resort in 2003.

Two employees from Sunsail were later found guilty of negligence and received 10-month jail sentences, suspended for three years.Following the civil hearing Laura's family was awarded a six-figure payout.

But her mother Lynne Morgan says so far she's only received twenty percent of the outstanding amount.

In January this year a coroner at an inquest in Nottingham recorded a narrative verdict, stating that the reason Laura became trapped was still unknown.

We deeply regret the distress that this protracted process has undoubtedly caused for Laura's family.

The appeal is due to be heard in April next year.
