More than 35,000 people visited the NEC's Comic Con event this weekend attended by a host of celebrities including Red Dwarf star Chris Barrie.

Thousands of excited Breaking Bad fans queued for hours in the hope of meeting RJ Mitte who plays Walt Jr in the cult US programme.

The event marked the first time the star has made a public appearance in the UK.

Hundreds of fans squashed into a Breaking Bad question and answer session to pose questions to Mitte, who discussed his role in the award-winning drama.

Gary Burns, spokesman for the event, said Mitte - who plays the son of a chemistry teacher turned meth kingpin - created a “huge buzz”.

It has been pretty hectic, and there are huge crowds of people waiting to meet RJ. This is his first appearance in the UK and arguably as big of a deal as the likes of Daniel Radcliffe.

Other celebrities at the event included Tom Felton, who plays Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, Bond Girl Shirley Eaton, and Ian McElhinney who plays Barristan Selmy in Game of Thrones.

Many people dressed up as their favourite fictional characters during the two-day extravaganza.
