It is part of an appeal to trace the driver involved in the incident when Isobel Rawes was struck as she crossed Stafford Road in Shirley near Solihull.

It happened outside the Staples store on 24 March at around 11.50am. She remains in hospital being treated for her injuries.

The driver of the car didn't stop at the scene, leaving the victim lying in the road as they drove away in the direction of the M42.

After looking through CCTV, police have identified the car as a silver Chrysler Voyager. They believe it will have damage to the front passenger side.

It is not known at this stage why the driver of the vehicle drove away leaving Mrs Rawes lying in the road.

We are continuing to trawl CCTV in an attempt to identify the vehicle and I would urge anyone that has seen a Chrysler Voyager with damage to the front passenger side to come forward.

It may be that the driver has confided in a friend or family member or a neighbour has noticed recent damage.

It is important that we speak to the driver in order to understand the reasons for the collision and the subsequent driving away from the scene to provide answers to the family of Mrs Rawes.
