Murder investigation after body discovered

Detectives have launched a murder investigation after the body of a man was found in a shed in Birmingham.

Officers conducting a missing persons inquiry made the discovery at a property on Carlton Road, in Bordesley Green, at around 11.30pm last night (Friday).

The dead man has yet to be formally identified, but police believe he is a 34-year-old from the Yardley area reported missing on Thursday lunchtime. His family have been informed.

Police said they are currently treating the death as suspicious.

Eleven people, believed to be known to the man, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of his murder.

Detectives are now urging potential witnesses to come forward and particularly want to speak to anyone who may have seen the dead man's car in and around the Carlton Road area in the past two days.

The vehicle - a white Toyota Yaris, registration FM64 PHU – was found about a mile away in Adderley Road on Friday.

The eleven people being questioned over the man’s death are: five men aged 45, 33, 28, 24 and 23, four women aged 50, 41, 25 and 19 and two boys, both aged 15.
