Police are investigating an arson attack in which a house was torched in Birmingham last night.

The householders managed to escape unhurt from the back room of the property on Fordough Lane, Bordesley Green, after a group of men threw petrol bombs through the windows at around 11.15pm.

Detectives say they do not believe that what happened was a random attack.

They are currently carrying out investigations in the area, and want to check any nearby CCTV.

Witnesses who may have seen any suspicious activity there are being urged to contact West Midlands Police on 101.
