Boxer who was stabbed in the heart has become a fitness model

A boxer who was told he could never fight again after being stabbed through the heart has battled back to become a top fitness model.

Kieran Quinlan was 17 when he was stabbed through the heart, aorta and left lung. The attack took place five years ago on a bus and was unprovoked.

Medics told Kieran he would have died if it wasn't for his boxing fitness after his heart stabbed three times on the operating table.

Six months later after battling back to health, Kieran was given the devastating news that he could never box again. However, thanks to his determination to stay fit, Kieran has fought back to compete in his very fist fitness show.

Kieran is also using his experience to help others and he is now part of a knife awareness project, going into schools and educating children about the dangers.

Those around Kieran describe him as an inspiration.
