A funfair owner has launched a fundraising appeal for a mother who died after suffering a cardiac arrest on one of his rides.

Lianne Harris was with her two young daughters when she collapsed on the Twister at Robert Wilkinson’s funfair in Sheldon Country Park on Sunday.

First-aiders had managed to revive her twice before paramedics arrived just before 5pm on Sunday. But Lianne, aged in her 30s, later died at Heartlands Hospital.

Travelling fairground owner Robert Wilkinson has now vowed to set up the ‘Lianne Harris fund’ to help support her family.

“Lianne Harris, a devoted mother, was taken from this world too soon whilst visiting our fair. In two days the Lianne Harris appeal should be open on the Justgiving site."

“We all know money is tight for everyone, and there is so much going on in the world at the moment. A lot of people have given to Syria, including myself, but let’s not forget this girl is from Brum and her family needs help. If you can give even a pound it will be greatly appreciated."

“We ask the Birmingham public to support one of our own. The Bigtop volunteers will be asking for donations this Eid weekend at Sparkhill park funfair with buckets so please share this post with everyone you know.”
