Tribute to music shop owner found dead in car boot

A Birmingham businessman has paid tribute to a local music shop owner who was found dead in a car boot.

Tanveer Iqbal was last seen on Sunday evening as he closed up his H-Tech Music shop on Shireland Road in Smethwick.

The 33-year-old's body was found in the boot of his Renault Clio on Portland Road in Edgbaston on Monday.

His death is being treated as suspicious.

Local businessman Badar Mir, 55, who runs Faisal Fashions Fabric, said:

Every morning, he would open the shop and he would say hello.

A forensic post-mortem was due to take place yesterday afternoon and inquiries are on-going at the scene. Mr Iqbal’s family is being supported by specially-trained officers.

Detective Inspector Paul Joyce is leading the investigation and said:

We’re working around the clock to try and piece together events leading up to this man’s death.
