A portrait of King Richard III made up of thousands of images from the reinterment events will be unveiled later today in Leicester.

The photo-mosaic is composed of photos taken during a week of events to mark the re-burial of the monarch this time last year.

Photos were sent in from members of the public as well as several local institutions including:

  • Leicester Cathedral

  • University of Leicester

  • Leicester City Council

  • Leicestershire County Council

“The Visitor Centre wanted to remember the reinterment in a really special way, whilst also acknowledging the involvement of those who took part in the proceedings and made it a very special occasion.

Iain Gordon, Visitor Centre Director

It's part of the Visitor Centre's photography exhibition 'Reinterment: One Year On', which launched in February.

The portrait will be on display until 2nd May.
