Tram will bring '£50m of benefits to the region'

The long awaited first tram has finally arrived at Birmingham New Street. They should have started last Sunday, but a safety check of the tracks showed more alignment work was needed.

But now they are running between New Street and Snow Hill Station transport officials say they will bring money into the city.

James Aspinall, the director of Centro has told ITV News Central that the metro system will bring over three million extra people into the city and £50m worth of benefits to the region.
