Tributes paid to 12-year-old killed by bus

Tributes have been paid to a 'beautiful and brave' 12-year-old schoolboy who has died in hospital after being injured in a road collision in Wednesbury.

Aston Soulsby was crossing Crankhall Lane when he was hit by a single decker bus just before 4pm on 1 November.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries but passed away on Tuesday morning (8 November).

Family members having set up a fund for Birmingham Children's Hospital in his memory.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances and anyone with information is asked to call the Collision Investigation Unit on 101.

Mike Smith, the associate headteacher at The Phoenix Collegiate where Aston was a pupil, added: “

We are deeply saddened about the tragic loss of Aston and our thoughts are with his family at this terrible time.
