Neighbours in shock after woman was stabbed to death in a tower flat
Neighbours are in shock after a woman who has been stabbed to death was discovered in a tower flat.
Paramedics were called to the high-rise known as the Pinnacle in Gomer Street, Willenhall, yesterday.
Inside, they found a woman who had suffered severe stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police later arrested a 46-year-old man who was found sitting in a car parked outside the tower block.
He was held on suspicion of murder and last night remained in custody.
Detectives say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the woman’s death.
The scene was cordoned off while forensic examinations took place.
One resident said: “I have lived here for three years and I am amazed something like this has happened.
“It’s usually quiet. I came out of my flat to pop to the newsagents and saw the police cordon. I heard someone was killed.
“These flats used to be council-owned and they were known as problem flats.
“But the council knocked them down and built this. I have never known any major trouble here since then.”
Another source at the flats described the people living at the flat where the body was found as “a loving family who never caused any trouble”.
Another added: “I’m shocked. I’ve lived here for 10 years and it has always been a safe place. I can’t believe someone has been killed.”
