Paramedics have abuse hurled at them as they treat patient

Sorry, this content isn't available on your device.

A paramedic has given a powerful testimony about what it's like working on a Saturday night in one of the UK's busiest cities.

Speaking at 4am from Birmingham's Broad Street, he describes how a female patient pretended to be unconscious, then when approached by medical staff - began to hurl abuse.

As paramedics try to reason with her, and retrieve the blanket covering her, she tells them to "F*** off" and demands to be taken to hospital.

Speaking straight to camera Mr Bowles says,

She's gone home in a taxi with friends so thankfully she's wasted a little of our time but not a hospital bed. It's the kind of verbal abuse you have to put up with now and again working at the weekend in the ambulance service.
