Burton Albion manager Nigel Clough has confirmed that he is staying at the club.

He was given permission to speak to Nottingham Forest last week about the managerial vacancy at the City Ground but is staying at the Pirelli Stadium.

In a club statement he said:

Having started this historic season in the Championship it is only right that we should stay and continue the job of trying to achieve the miracle of keeping Burton Albion in the Championship. Staying is the right thing to do.

Burton Albion are now three points from the relegation places after a 2-1 win away from home against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

Burton chairman Ben Robinson is pleased that Nigel has decided to stay with the club.

We are delighted that Nigel Clough has decided to continue the excellent job he has done at the club since re-joining us in December 2015.
