Police probe as children terrified by sighting of masked men

Police have launched an investigation after schoolchildren were left terrified as two masked men emerged from a car.

Two youngsters raised the alarm when they spotted the duo in Collingwood Drive, Pheasey, near Great Barr, on Thursday night.

West Midlands Police sent six officers to the scene at 9.30pm following fears it was an attempted abduction.

But the force said later the children were not approached or threatened.

The mother of one of them wrote on Facebook:

A police spokeswoman said officers attended the scene after reports of two masked men acting suspiciously:

The spokeswoman said an investigation was launched because the men were both said to have been hiding their faces.
