Refurbishment work on Midland tower block suspended after Grenfell Tower fire

Refurbishment work on a Midland tower block has been suspended because of safety concerns following the Grenfell Tower fire tragedy in London.

Jason Cannon, Director of Gedling Homes confirmed the instillation process of cladding on Walton Court in Nottingham has been suspended.

Although an application was made to install cladding at the premises, we can confirm that due to recent events, this planned work has been suspended until further notice while a review is carried out.

Police said at least 30 people died in the Grenfell Tower fire, as they warned the number is expected to continue to rise.
