Peterborough United have signed Luton Town striker Jack Marriott for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old finished as the Hatters' top scorer in 2015/16 with 16 goals, but had to settle for a place on the substitutes' bench for much of last season following the capture of Danny Hylton.

Former Ipswich Town trainee Marriott has agreed a four-year deal at the ABAX Stadium and Posh beat off competition from The Championship to secure his signature.

"I believe it is a good coup for us because there were a couple of Championship clubs in for him. Ever since I started talking with him, he wanted to come and join us and credit to the boy for that. I think everyone at the club deserves a lot of credit for getting this deal done. I am looking forward to working with him."
