A Spitfire pilot who fought in the Battle of Britain during the Second World War has died, aged 99
Flying Officer Kenneth Wilkinson from Solihull died on Monday morning, the Battle of Britain Memorial said on their website.
The tribute said Mr Wilkinson was an active member of the Battle of Britain Fighter Association since its inception, and a great supporter of the Battle of Britain Memorial Trust.
Ken had turned 99 on 29 June this year.
ITV News Central has filmed with him on numerous occasions including in 1997 - he was part of the Malvern Spitfire Group, which had been collecting parts from the damaged aircraft that fell from the sky.
He spoke about how it felt flying the Spitfire.
