Prisoner handed further sentence after 'vicious' assault

A prisoner has been handed a further sentence after he viciously assaulted a fellow inmate.

Ramone Brannon used a homemade weapon made of two razor blades fused onto a toothbrush to cut a mans cheek. The victim was left with an 8cm laceration.

The incident happened on December 5 last year at HMP Peterborough.

The 24-year-old, of HMP Peterborough pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm at Cambridge Crown Court on Monday (September 4) and was handed 30 months in jail which will be served on top of his current sentence.
