West Midlands Police have launched a murder investigation after a man from Birmingham died after suffering serious injuries at the end of last month.
54-year-old Gary Twist was found with serious head injuries on Shaftmoor Lane in the Hall Green area of Birmingham at around 11:40pm on Saturday 30 September.
He was attacked a short time after leaving the College Arms pub with his girlfriend.
Twist had been in hospital ever since the attack but died last night (16 October).
32-year-old labourer, Simeon Corry, of Gospel Lane in Acocks Green was charged with attempted murder and assault occasioning actual bodily harm and remains in custody.
