A West Midlands double decker bus has had its roof torn off after crashing into a bridge.

It happened near Cadbury World in the Bournville area of Birmingham in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Witnesses described hearing an "incredible bang" as the National Express West Midlands bus smashed into the bridge, tearing the roof from the upper deck and leaving it lying on the road.

No passengers were on board at the time of the incident and the driver was uninjured.
