Teenager cleared of murdering amateur footballer in nightclub stabbing
A teenager has been cleared of murdering an amateur footballer who was stabbed in a nightclub.
Kobe Murrary has also been acquitted of manslaughter after Ryan Passey died last year.
Ryan, who was 24, was stabbed at Chicago's nightclub in Stourbridge on August 6 last year.
A seven-day trial at Birmingham Crown Court was told that Ryan suffered a single stab wound shortly after two minor incidents on the dance floor, including one where punches were thrown.
During his trial, 19-year-old Murray told the court he grabbed a knife from another man at the club.
His defence argued that Murray, from Dudley, may have 'pushed out' as he was punched and then realised the knife had injured someone.
