Social groups set up for War veterans to reduce loneliness

A social group for older ex-service veterans in Nottinghamshire has been set up to help reduce issues of loneliness and social isolation.

Greg Bainbridge is one of the veterans who attends the session fought in the Korean war.

He is now 87 and lives on his own after the death of his wife.

Greg is one of around 20,000 pensioners in Nottinghamshire who have once served in the forces.

The county council has set up three groups, which have been running since January and meet once a week.

There are hopes to set more up in the future.
