Police are searching for men reported to be armed with machetes who fled from the scene of a crash in Dudley earlier which left one man in hospital.

Buffery Road in Dudley remains closed while police are at the scene of disorder which happened just before 3.30pm today.

A male pedestrian was injured after being struck by a car and was taken to hospital with leg injuries.

The occupants abandoned the car and are being sought by police.

Firearms officers were deployed to the scene after it was reported that a man was seen armed with machetes.

West Midlands Police say the incident is not being treated as a terror related and thought to be a dispute between two groups. Residents should be reassured that there is no threat to the wider public.

Forensic examinations are taking place and officers are speaking to witnesses.
