Big Issue seller's success after buying credit card reader

A Big Issue seller from Nottinghamshire has become the first in the East Midlands to sell the magazine using a card reader.

Paul Snape decided to let his customers pay with plastic, because they often don't have any spare cash on them.

The credit card reader cost around £30 and he is charged 4p per magazine - but Paul says the card reader is already paying for itself.

Paul, who's 47, hit hard times after losing his job in the 1990s.

After years of sofa-surfing, the Big Issue charity has now helped him get a flat in Beeston.
