A woman has made an appeal for thieves to return her father’s war medals, after they were stolen from a Long Eaton school.

The medals had belonged to Squadron Leader Gerald de Lucie Carver, who served in bomber command during the Second World War.

He was an ex-pupil of Trent College, and the medals had been on loan to the school after his death in 2008 at the age of 86.

The medals had been on display in a wooden, wall-mounted case before they were stolen in February.

Derbyshire Police have asked anyone with information to come forward.
