Cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason sees chart success after Royal Wedding performance

Musician Sheku Kanneh-Mason has become the highest charting cellist in official albums chart history.

The 19-year-old from Nottingham's album has risen to number 11 in the chart after his performance at the Royal Wedding last weekend was watched by millions of people all over the world. Sheku's album has also topped the UK Classical Chart.

The teenager says he is grateful for all the support and spent the week after the wedding sitting exams.

It’s been a crazy week with the Royal Wedding and then my college exams straight after! The reaction to my performance has been incredible and it feels amazing to have my album in the pop charts internationally. I’m so happy that people are enjoying my music and really grateful for all the support I’ve received in the past few days – it’s been fantastic.
