A gunpowder salute by re-enactors has taken place on a field near Newark to mark the launch of a new history trail to commemorate the Battle of East Stoke.

The battle is thought to have been the final major fight in the War of the Roses.

The Tudor's victory cemented their reign following the death of Richard the third at the Battle of Bosworth.

Five oak panels now describe the importance of what happened in the field.
