Police are investigating a robbery where a man has been sprayed in the face with what is believed to be bleach.

Officers say that the 34-year-old man from Tamworth in Staffordshire was out walking his dog on Tamworth's Silver Link Road at the junction of Collett, this morning (Sunday 29 July 2018), when three men in black hooded tops approached him.

It's reported that after the liquid was sprayed at the dog and his owner, the men made off with a watch worth £50.

The man was treated at the scene and taken to hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life-altering.

The dog has been receiving treatment at the RSPCA Birmingham Animal Centre and Hospital.

Witnesses or anyone who may have information about the incident are being urged to contact the police.
