A man out walking his dog was sprayed with what's believed to be bleach, as he was robbed on the street.

Police say the 34-year-old victim was walking along Silver Link Road in Tamworth, at the junction with Collett, when three men in black hoodies approached him, at about 8.30am on Sunday 29 July.

One of the men sprayed the liquid at the victim's dog, then into his face.

His watch worth about £50 was then stolen, and the men ran off.

The man was taken to hospital immediately, and has since been discharged. His dog is recovering at an RSPCA animal hospital in Birmingham.

Police are appealing for help to catch those responsible, and are reassuring the public that the attack is thought to be isolated, with no other similar incidents reported.
