A council in Birmingham is discouraging people from parking on grass verges due to the damage cars can cause.
But these contractors must have missed the memo. They were spotted parking on a verge as they put up a sign telling people not to park in the very same spot.
The sign, on Doveridge Road in Hall Green, says: "No motor vehicle parking on verge or footway."
Local councillor Timothy Huxtable, from Hall Green South, raised the picture with the city's Labour leader Ian Ward during council question time.
He said: "Would you instruct council drivers and contractors, not to park on grass verges?"
Leader of Birmingham City Council, Cllr Ian Ward, replied: "We place great importance on grass verges in this city. I can't explain why the contractors parked on that grass verge while putting up the sign and the irony of that fact is not lost on me."
He added: "There is no excuse for council contractors, or anyone else for that matter, to park on grass verges."
