The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning as Tropical Storm Helene heads towards the UK.
Strong winds from the former hurricane, which has made its way across the Atlantic, are expected to hit central and western parts of the UK in the next few hours.
The East and West Midlands could be affected from 9pm tonight (Monday) through to 6pm tomorrow (Tuesday).
The Met Office has warned of:
Damage to trees with large branches or trees falling in some places
Delays to road, rail and air transport
Tropical Storm Helene is one four named weather systems to have spun across the Atlantic recently as hurricane season starts.
