A man in his 30s has died after he was stabbed to death in a park.
Officers were called to a disturbance in the early hours of this morning (Fri) where they found the victim and a burning car.
The victim, who is a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene in Wolverhampton and three men have since been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Police are looking at whether the incident is linked to a burning car that was found on Raven Crescent in Ashmore Park, where the stabbing took place. Witnesses reported hearing gun shots, but detectives say this was more likely down to the car fire.
Supt Matt Markham, from West Midlands Police, said: "This murder investigation is at a really early stage and we are still trying to build a picture of exactly what happened. We’ve made swift progress in arresting three men, but we still want to hear from people who were in the area at the time.
"We know a number of people heard what they thought were gunshots in the area, but we now believe that this may be down to the car that was on fire at the scene."
Anyone who has any information is urged to call 101 quoting log 344 of 12 October.
