A baby has been injured after shots were fired at two houses in Birmingham.
The baby suffered a minor injury after a gunshot shattered a window on a house in the Alum Rock area of the city.
The baby was injured by the broken glass and was taken to hospital following the incident on Sandbourne Road around 2.55am.
Around five minutes later, there was a second shooting at a window of a property on Fernbank Road and officers believe the two crimes are linked.
Det Insp Richard Marsh said: "A young child has been injured as a result of the reckless discharge of a firearm, and we’re working hard to bring whoever was responsible to justice.
“"Gun crime is a priority for West Midlands Police and we continue to take dangerous weapons off the streets and put those involved in firearms behind bars."
Anyone who saw anything is urged to contact West Midlands Police.
