A 19-year-old man has denied murdering a pensioner who died three weeks after being attacked at his home.
Jason Wilsher appeared at Birmingham Crown Court via a prison videolink to plead not guilty to killing 87-year-old Arthur Gumbley.
Wilsher, of Barlestone Road, Bagworth, Leicestershire, was remanded in custody after a ten-minute hearing and will stand trial on March 4 next year.
Mr Gumbley died in hospital on December 12 last year, after being injured at his home in Endwood Drive, Sutton Coldfield, on the evening of November 21.
Speaking at the time of his death, his family said.
He was our rock, the mainstay of our family, the grandchildren loved him and came to him for advice.
