Police cordoned off Doles Lane and Green Lane for the work to be carried out.

A resident nearby whose house faces the river said it would the fourth vehicle to be trapped in Henmore Brook since he moved there 11 years ago.

Barry Peck said it was not a new thing. He said Clifton Parish Council had put a gauge at the ford and had been working to sort out the problem.
