New Street Station in Birmingham was turned into a dining hall on Christmas Eve, as two hundred people who are homeless were given a festive dinner.

Those who don't have a place of their own were given a free three-course banquet meal last night at the station's lower concourse.

The festivities included carol singers, a DJ and even an appearance from Santa. The event was organised by Walsall-based Sikh charity Midland Langar Seva Society and was supported by Network Rail.

Organisers say the event was about bringing those who feel lonely and isolated together at this time of the year.
