Car stuck on tram tracks causes disruption for commuters

A car stuck on tram tracks sparked disruption for commuters in Nottingham this morning.

NET, the tram operator, received reports at around 8am about a car stuck on a bridge in Lenton Lane, Nottingham.

NET tweeted at 8.33am to say: "Due to a car blocking the track we currently have no service between Meadows Way West and University Boulevard.

"NCT Orange line buses and the Trent Barton Indigo buses are accepting our tickets. Our engineers are currently on site. #NETLive."

Recovery crews and engineers worked to recover the car "as quickly as possible".

In an update, NET tweeted, at 9.41am, say: “We are now running to all destinations with delays to the Hucknall - Toton Lane lines.

"We thank you for your patience this morning whilst we removed the car from the track. #NETLive.”
