Today: A gloomy, chilly start with occasional drizzle in places. Perhaps a little brightness developing here and there through the afternoon, but many places look to remain rather grey and cold.

Tonight: A few cloud breaks through the evening, but generally speaking a lot of cloud, with extensive hill fog and some patchy rain and drizzle. A few icy patches possible.

Monday: The new week will start grey and murky, but there is a greater chance of sunny spells developing through the afternoon. Southwesterly winds will freshen later on.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday: An icy start on Tuesday, with overnight rain and hill snow having cleared east. Then a day of blustery and increasingly wintry showers. Brighter but cold thereafter, with night frosts.
