Two men have been arrested after a car they were speeding through Birmingham in smashed through the front of a shop, narrowly missing a person inside.

The shocking CCTV footage captured the moment a Peugeot 207 smashed through the window and into a woman's clothing shop on Ellesmere Road on Saturday morning.

The driver fails to stop at the junction with Alum Rock Road and flies across the road, smashing into H&Y.

One man climbs through the shattered shop front and makes a dash down the road, with a second man then emerging from the car and following.

A police van - which had been chasing the Peugeot after it was spotted driving erratically - follows closely behind.

Police confirmed a 20-year-old and 30-year-old have been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving and failing to stop.

The older suspect was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A drug.
