An ambulance worker who responded to a fire which killed four children leaves a heartbreaking message at the scene.

The message reads:

RIP you beautiful angels.

I don't know you personally but I was involved in last night's incident.

I work in the ambulance service and was involved in getting the correct resources to try and help save you.

I am so gutted we couldn't save you all. I hope your family can remain strong and you will remain in everybody's hearts together.

– Mrs Lamara Shelley

Today, police have said investigations are continuing and are likely to last into the next few days to find out how the fire was caused.

A 24-year-old woman, a 28-year-old man and a two-year-old boy all remain in hospital for treatment but their injuries are not life-threatening.

Almost £20,000 has been raised after a fundraising page was created to support the family.
