The inquest into the deaths of four children who died at a house fire in Stafford on 5 February will open in Burton tomorrow.

South Staffordshire assistant coroner, Margaret Jones, will open the inquest into the deaths of Riley John Holt, aged 8, Keegan Jonathan Unitt, aged 6, Tilly Rose Unitt, aged 4, and Olly Unitt aged 3, at Burton Town Hall.

More than £30,000 has now been raised for the family, through crowdfunding and donations from the local community and businesses.

It's going to be put into a trust fund, with the surviving child, being the main beneficiary.

The trustees say that their first priority is to make sure money is made available to support any funeral and memorial costs.

There are still many issues to be resolved, and it is important that the funds are safeguarded until such time as there is sufficient clarity to consider how best to utilise the monies held in trust. Those who have donated can be assured that, save for providing urgent financial assistance such as described above, the funds will be held by the Trustees.
