The funeral of World Cup-winning goalkeeper Gordon Banks will take place on March 4 at 1.30pm at Stoke Minster.

Banks, who played for both Stoke City and Leicester City during the 1960s and 70s, died on 12 February at the age of 81.

Access to the service will be by invitation only and space around the Minster will be severely restricted.

The Franklyn Stand will be open from 11.30am with the service starting at 1.30pm.

Details of the exact route for Gordon’s funeral cortege will be announced in due course but the Club can confirm it will pass through the stadium on route to the Minster.
