Man charged following fire at Tamworth hospital

A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a fire at a hospital in Tamworth.

43-year-old Zoltan Rozsa, of no fixed address, has been charged with arson with intent/reckless as to whether life was endangered.

Police were called at 9.15pm to the George Bryan Medical Centre on Plantation Lane, Mile Oak, Tamworth on Monday (11 February).

Around 50 firefighters from Staffordshire, West Midlands and Warwickshire fire services were deployed to the scene.

20 occupants and staff were evacuated and there were no reports of casualties.

Patients were transferred to other local medical centres.
