A young man has sadly lost his life and we are keen to hear from anybody with information which can assist our enquiries."

Detective Inspector Michelle Allen

I was absolutely devastated to hear of the senseless and tragic death of another young person in our city, and our thoughts go out to the victim’s friends and family. It is quite clear we have to do much more to drive violence and knife crime off our streets. Our young people deserve better and everyone has a part to play in this response from individual citizens through to the council and other public services.I'll be working with West Midlands Police, the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner, city council colleagues and residents to do this. We have to co-ordinate our efforts to deal with this national emergency.”

Cllr John Cotton, Birmingham City Council
