Derby Explosions: Investigation finds fire was not deliberate

An investigation into the cause of a fire at a commercial building in Derby has found that it was not started deliberately.

Crews were called at 13.40pm to Enterprise Way on Monday 22 April after reports of an explosion and fire.

Numerous explosions could be heard and residents were advised tokeep their windows and doors closed.

The investigation into the cause of the fire remains ongoing, however the fire is not thought to have been started deliberately.”

St Mary's Wharf police station, which is near the commercial building, was among the evacuated buildings. No one was injured in the blasts.

According to East Midlands Ambulance Service, train services between Derby and Chesterfield were cancelled.
