Fish killed by pollutant in River Soar in Leicestershire
40 fish have been killed by a pollutant in the River Soar in Leicestershire.
The Environment Agency is investigating after the fish were found by boaters last weekend between Sileby lock and Cossington lock.
Following a report of dead fish in the River Soar at Cossington, Leicestershire, on Saturday 27 July, Environment Agency officers attended the site and found 40 dead fish and over 100 fish gasping at the surface of the watercourse.
We are working to locate the source of the pollutant, and our fisheries officers will continue to monitor the situation.
